POST-COVID LIFT FILMING DAY: UPDATE 2

So far, the plans involve going to the Mall at Short Hills to create a movie of all of their lifts that I can access.

What may be included?

  • Yellow Carpark
  • Green Carpark
  • Neiman Marcus Carpark
  • Nordstrom Carpark
  • Bloomingdale’s Carpark

Carparks will be filmed first, then the two main mall lifts, then the shops.

  • Glass lift
  • Side lift
  • Bloomingdale’s
  • Nordstrom
  • Neiman Marcus
  • Macy’s

The movie should be around 30-35 minutes long by the time it is finished being produced. I may not be able to film all of the lifts in a single day, so I will split up the footage in small phases so I put serious work into this movie since it’s supposed to be one of the rare but major highlights of my lift filming channel.

What if I can’t film lifts at Short Hills?

Plan A: Since my channel is Clinton Township Lifts by MagicalLift256, I will pick 3 places to film lifts at in Clinton Township & make detailed info videos about what I film. I am planning to visit the 3 hotels in Clinton Town but I will need advance permission before I go about filming the lifts.

Plan B: I will re-film all of the lifts at Kean University on a Friday morning (a day where I will hopefully not have class).

However, things are still in the air as of right now, so the plans are not yet set-in-stone. Updates will happen once every 2-3 weeks over the course of this ever-evolving COVID pandemic.

Why Schindler & KONE make the best traction lifts

Over the past 2 & a half years of filming lifts at different buildings all over the Eastern Seaboard, I have managed to film a handful of OTIS, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp & KONE traction lifts. Here is my assumption: Schindler & KONE make the best traction & MRL traction lifts of any of the 4 major lift brands. Of course, this could be based on personal bias, but it doesn’t go without knowledge that Schindler lifts, are in fact, more efficient time-based than let’s say, ThyssenKrupp lifts. Here are some things that I really love about Schindler & KONE traction lifts. Their fast acceleration / leveling It is no surprise that Schindler & KONE have some of the fastest average accelerating rates of any major lift brand. This is because Schindler & KONE have a perfect reference-tackle system, which is almost unbeatable by standards of other lift brands. One thing I have noticed when riding Schindler lifts is even at low speeds (200-400 FPM), you head feels like...

THE OTIS IN ANAHEIM

Before writing this report, let me quickly give you some background on the lifts and escalators that I have seen during my time at DisneyLand in Anaheim, California with my family. Brief Overview While I was at DisneyLand in Anaheim, I have encountered four sets of very tall MontgomeryKONE escalators, a set of two very fast MontgomeryKONE traction units (partially outdoor as the first landing had a rear door that opened on the outside of the building), this OTIS hydro here that I managed to ride and film & another OTIS hydro that I didn’t get to ride nor film. These lifts, regardless, were still very awesome lifts, but for now, I will be going into a description of this amazing lift. What made this lift so amazing? This particular lift is so amazing because it’s a full-blown commercial hydraulic lift installed fully outdoors , which is rather unusual for an outdoor lift. This alone made it amazing. Upon first glance, it looks like a pretty standard lift that you would typical...

Paramus Lift Galore: June 2022

Written on behalf of the Rising Salamander Academy Lift Galore Date: June 17 Lift Galore Time: 5:00 PM EST It's been a long time since I've last filmed lifts in person, a whole whopping half a year to be exact. I'm excited to be back, but not for long, since I have to finish up my time at Kean University & focus on graduating on time. But for the mean time, let's enjoy our summer recess, film the best lifts we can film & make the most of it! Westinghouse Lift Where: Macy's, Garden State Plaza Time Filmed: 10:10 AM (June 10) Grade: B+ Speed to Height Ratio: 8.1:1 (Fast) Landings Served: 3 The first lift of this lift galore is a 1950's Westinghouse lift which was later modernised by a generic company between the 1980's & early 2000's with EPCO Flushline fixtures on the outside, EPCO Circleline fixtures on the inside. This lift has a speed to height ratio of 8.1:1 which makes it fast for the application & number of landings. This lift is loc...
