My Innovation discoveries this month when doing research on the wiki

When researching the lift community's global wiki, I was able to make two outstanding discoveries when I looked at the pages for Monitor buttons & KONE KSS buttons. Kone KSS I have discovered that in North America the KONE KSS buttons are actually custom Innovation  buttons made & delivered specifically to KONE. I am surprised at this because I thought KONE had their own  button design, but I see that KONE is fully dependent  on Innovation for lift buttons. While this is pretty disappointing that they are relying on Innovation for cheaper buttons designed to KONE's standard, I will admit, it's pretty cool that theoretically any KONE lift with any KSS-series buttons actually has Innovation buttons . Nevertheless, this does not actually make me like KONE KSS any better. In fact, the only KONE KSS button I truly like besides Designer & KSS 970  is the KSS 140 as it has a nice, characterful modern European look to any lift. Monitor Fixtures In addit...

A/P 3.25 & Pittsburgh verdict day

FINAL VERDICT FOR PITTSBURGH Sadly, we are NOT  going to Pittsburgh during Spring week! Although this is unfortunate for all of you, this now opens up a new possibility  for our current 16 graduation trip options (bold are emergency resorts): Charlotte --> the city I am aiming to go to during my graduation trip STLouis Kansas City San Diego LosAngeles Houston Fort Lauderdale Miami Atlanta Pittsburgh Milwaukee Chicago Hartford New Haven AtlantiCity Secaucus Blame this verdict on snow days which have shortened our spring break to only 3ish days . While Pittsburgh may not be happening, I do have ideas (NOT PLANS) for going to Scranton PA for a weekend during April 2018 to refilm the lifts at 1 of 3 Marriott Hotels in Moosic: Courtyard (3 floors 1990s Schindler 300 hydros ) TP (4 floors 2010s OTIS 211H ) Springhill (4 floors 2010s Schindler 330 ) As of now, Scranton is not in C. Kingdom. UPDATE FOR ATLANTA As of right now, it certainly ...

Atlanta-Pittsburgh update 3/11

We are beginning to see nearly certain doubts. Pittsburgh Due to my move across Hunterdon County NJ, it is swaying off the possibility of us going to PITTSBURGH  Pennsylvania! Other contributing factors to the decline of our likelihood of going to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania include school being extended into spring recess  (blame your best friend Mother Nature for this) & other school events going on during April 1 - 5. Looking back at the past few several since December 31st , I am now having extreme doubts Pittsburgh is happening. I'm starting to see better odds of me just filming some lifts throughout Clinton & Flemington NJ. The probability of Pittsburgh happening is about as low as the probability of Atlanta happening at this point (1%). Any city ranking high  in the Charlotte Kingdom (1 to 8)  that is not in NJ or Connecticut is bound to have a downhill trend! Atlanta If you ask me to post the verdict right now , I would probably be able...

2 Weird things I have noticed with modern VF lifts

Increasing delays with increasing load Almost every time I have filmed a VF lift since 2016 , I have noticed that the more crowded a lift was, the more time it took for it to start moving after the doors closed. Not only that, but I have noticed something nerve wracking with how the lifts behaved when they were crowded. They would either slowly sink for a couple of inches before accelerating upward or slowly rise for a couple of inches before accelerating downward . Since this behavior is fairly new to me since I am still getting used to how VF lifts work, it is actually quite scary for me to experience when filming the lift. So far, I have been on a ThyssenKrupp Momentum, a standard VF ThyssenKrupp & a few OTIS Elevonic 411 lifts which have done that to me on camera.  Although I have been on a few Schindler 7000s (all destination dispatch) which did that, I haven't watched enough videos of Schindler Miconic 10's / PORT's to know if it's normal or not for a l...

How could I describe my research of St. Louis's lifts?

The research was worthwhile! While researching the lifts in Saint Louis, using STL Elevators'   playlist  of STL's sub-city  Clayton MO, alongside DieselDucy's  STL playlist , I have discovered that STL has lifts worthy of KICKING CHARLOTTE DOWN TO SECOND PLACE IF IT WERE ALLOWED!  That's how awesome the VAST MAJORITY  of STL's lifts are! And that's from just WATCHING the videos mindlessly WITHOUT PAYING MUCH ATTENTION TO THEM!  I was really excited about putting STL onto the Charlotte Kingdom & I am very proud I did because it turned out to be the best decision I've made  since I discovered Charlotte herself! What exactly excited me about STL? The variety of lifts with the different varieties of character was what impressed me! A lift doesn't have to look posh for me to want to film it, it just has to run uniquely for me to want to film it!  Almost all of the lifts in STL matched this phrase exactly,  making me want to not on...

Scrapbook of plans for the Charlotte Kingdom Project

Hello frirnds, I am super pumped for that project I'm going to get working on starting September 2018 for my hoping-to-work  Charlotte Kingdom trip which should happen during the summer of 2019: What cities WILL BE included in the research project: Charlotte (NORTH CAROLINA) Asheville (NORTH CAROLINA, same rank as Charlotte but older ) Saint Louis (MISSOURI) Kansas City (MISSOURI) San Diego (CALIFORNIA) Los Angeles (CALIFORNIA) Houston (TEXAS) Fort Lauderdale (FLORIDA) Miami (FLORIDA) Atlanta (GEORGIA) Pittsburgh (PENNSYLVANIA) Milwaukee (WISCONSIN) Chicago (ILLINOIS) Hartford (CONNECTICUT) New Haven (CONNECTICUT) **Atlantic City (NEW  JERSEY) **Secaucus (NEW JERSEY) Which cities will be most practical for the trip? You will find out as I am working on the project. I will make the project the 2nd most important priority I have besides schoolwork. Currently, the generally most practical cities I could pick as of RIGHT NOW would be as follows from mo...

What makes a lift good to film?

Let's face it. When you go to a major city, you could expect to ride at least one lift while you're there. However, did you know there are many unique features of the lift that you're riding that you are not paying attention to during your trip? These features are called characterful elements  which are only paid attention to closely by lift enthusiasts . The three categories which make a lift good to film include character, class & style. Character Character mostly refers to how uniquely a lift runs from its nearby neighbors. Shared character  mostly refers to how uniquely a lift model  runs from its competitor models (e.g. Otis Gen2 vs. ThyssenKrupp Endura). Sometimes, the slowest lifts found inside the shortest buildings have the most character! The modern lifts that have the most character are mostly hydraulic or MRL overhead &  usually found in the shorter buildings. Even some modern lifts  tend to have some character. Some modern day l...
