Scrapbook of plans for the Charlotte Kingdom Project

Hello frirnds, I am super pumped for that project I'm going to get working on starting September 2018 for my hoping-to-work Charlotte Kingdom trip which should happen during the summer of 2019:

What cities WILL BE included in the research project:

  1. Charlotte (NORTH CAROLINA)
    1. Asheville (NORTH CAROLINA, same rank as Charlotte but older)
  2. Saint Louis (MISSOURI)
  3. Kansas City (MISSOURI)
  4. San Diego (CALIFORNIA)
  5. Los Angeles (CALIFORNIA)
  6. Houston (TEXAS)
  7. Fort Lauderdale (FLORIDA)
  8. Miami (FLORIDA)
  9. Atlanta (GEORGIA)
  10. Pittsburgh (PENNSYLVANIA)
  11. Milwaukee (WISCONSIN)
  12. Chicago (ILLINOIS)
  13. Hartford (CONNECTICUT)
  14. New Haven (CONNECTICUT)
  15. **Atlantic City (NEW  JERSEY)
  16. **Secaucus (NEW JERSEY)

Which cities will be most practical for the trip?

You will find out as I am working on the project. I will make the project the 2nd most important priority I have besides schoolwork. Currently, the generally most practical cities I could pick as of RIGHT NOW would be as follows from most to least practical:
  1. Secaucus
  2. Atlantic City
  3. Hartford
  4. New Haven
  5. Pittsburgh
The project will begin on September 1st 2018. The finish date will be sometime in May 2019, to have adequate time to make complete reservations for the trip WAY AHEAD of time to ensure minimal problems happen from then before the trip.

As of right now, I do not have any specific ideas as to how I am planning to work on the project, but, I am planning to be extremely busy on the project & I will keep my lift filming schedule to a complete minimum to avoid interference with my project schedule. This means that I will only film a li

To ensure the best work, I will be working on the project in a Google Doc, which will be accessible by a view-only button on my main website. This way, I could have the ability to work on my project from my Surface Pro 4 (main computer), ANY of the computers in my house INCLUDING the Mac (if I am permitted to use the Mac for some of the project), my Chromebook (if I am permitted to use the Chromebook), the basement Dell Chromebox PC, the family iPad, or my Android Phone (I am hoping to upgrade my Android Phone the month BEFORE the graduation trip).

What happens if I visit ANY of the above Charlotte Kingdom cities or equivalent cities mentioned above during the summer of 2018?

If I manage to do that this summer, then those city/ies will be considered as additional emergency plans for the graduation trip research project.

I am planning this project in advance THIS EARLY to ensure that it can be as successful as possible & I could work on making sure a successful completion of a rather stressful time in high school can be celebrated with maximum pride! I will not graduate high school normally. I will make sure that surviving a mentally challenging 4 years will leave back something positive, not only in my lift filming career, but a positive reward for successfully getting through the 4 years of high school that I could take to memory for the rest of my life! This is why I am being extremely strict on WHICH lifts I hope to film in the final city of choice!

Here below is a basic idea of what my project should look like (it WILL be split up into 5 phases):
  • PHASE 1
    • September 2018: Launch a research project in book form (Google doc) & start producing projected forecast trends for each city EXCEPT SECAUCUS, NEW HAVEN,  HARTFORD & ATLANTIC CITY (These four will be the emergency choices if all 12 other cities are not practical), long introductions up to 4 pages long
      • Use SAME FONT as main website is currently using
    • October 2018: Depth-oriented risk analysis & factors with visual charts
    • November 2018: Watch YouTube videos one city at a time & only include the videos of the best lifts along with taking notes on the videos. Video notes taken in SEPARATE GOOGLE DOC MINIMAL OR NO WORK ON RESEARCH PROJECT DURING THIS MONTH
  • PHASE 2
    • December 2018: Incorporate notes onto research project
    • January 2019: Re-evaluate depth-oriented risk analysis & revise it with new visual charts
    • February 2019: Begin ruling out impractical cities by putting them into a section of the project called "Impracticals".
  • PHASE 3
    • March 2019: Make a summary of which lifts are the best lifts & which lifts should be filmed in order for each city
    • First half of April 2019: Make a list of 2 to 3 most practical cities from the new list with visual charts
  • PHASE 4
    • Second half of April 2019: Finalize decisions & incorporate phase 3 from the two most practical cities for the trip
    • Very end of April 2019: Publish document as a view-only link
  • PHASE 5
    • May - June 2019: Make necessary revisions & include new info to research project about what month trip could be happening along with which city.
  • PHASE 6
    • Middle of June 2019: Summarize project results into blog post on EleFilm blog

March 6 (SUPER BIG ADDITION TO CHARLOTTE KINGDOM)

As of March 5, Saint Louis, Missouri, Kansas City, Missouri & San Diego, California, have stolen the spot for 2nd, third & fourth place, putting Los Angeles in fifth place. There are now 16 parent cities (AND COUNTING) of the Charlotte Kingdom. After doing extensive research on the state of Missouri, I decided to put the state of Missouri very high on the Charlotte Kingdom (Queen Charlotte will always be first no matter how epic another city's lifts are), due to their outstanding array of insanely epic vintage & modern lifts. Saint Louis & Kansas City are tied with Charlotte now, as long as San Diego being tied with Los Angeles. As well as that, as of now, the entire state of Missouri AND THE ENTIRE STATE OF CALIFORNIA is in the Charlotte Kingdom! So, the order now goes as follows from most interesting to least interesting:
  1. CHARLOTTE
  2. ST. LOUIS (basically all of Missouri)
  3. KANSAS CITY
  4. SAN DIEGO
  5. LOS ANGELES
  6. HOUSTON
  7. FORT LAUDERDALE
  8. MIAMI
  9. ATLANTA
  10. PITTSBURGH
  11. MILWAUKEE
  12. CHICAGO
  13. HARTFORD
  14. NEW HAVEN
  15. ATLANTIC CITY
  16. SECAUCUS
Over my almost a year of hard research on epic cities to film lifts, I have discovered that Charlotte has many brother & sister cities across the United States. I am still doing research on Indiana's cities & I am thinking of putting Indianapolis, San Francisco AND DALLAS on the Charlotte Kingdom, thanks to NW Indiana Elevators' discovery of Indianapolis's lifts & thanks to the discoveries by other fellow YouTube friends like JimLiElevators, AlexMcFerren & Gluse. However, I still need to watch more videos to be truly confident about doing it. From now through September 2018, I will be doing continual research on cities with amazing "newer" lifts! I expect to have 18 principal cities in Charlotte Kingdom before the end of August 2018, therefore I could expand my possibilities for exploring when I graduate from high school. Additionally, by the end of August 2018, California & Texas could be the first U.S. states to have three Charlotte Kingdom ranked principal cities!

I have also discovered there are many states with at least two principal cities in them & I happen to live in the most epic of the 6 states to film lifts (States ranked from where principal cities are most interesting to least interesting).
  1. New Jersey
  2. California
  3. Florida
  4. Texas
  5. Connecticut
  6. Missouri
Other potential cities of Missouri that would fit perfectly between Charlotte & LA would be St Charles & Clayton MO.

Please email me with this blog post at prosperouspenguins@gmail.com with questions regarding how I should plan out the project. I want to come up with a super big lift galore by the end of the summer of 2019 that will wow away y'all.

As of March 6, 2018, there are now 16 principal cities on the Charlotte Kingdom. By August 31st 2018, there should be 19 to 20 principal cities on the Charlotte Kingdom, possibly even 21. Texas & California have the highest chance of being triple-whammy states!
If at the conclusion of the graduation trip to my "end-result" city I am overwhelmed by how impressed I am by what I see, ride & film, I will only continue my research on which cities have standard lifts unlike no other typical U.S. city.
If I was able to include cities from outside the U.S. on the list, Toronto would be second place on the list & it would probably kick Charlotte down to first place if it were allowed!

I normally don't periodically update blog posts, but when there's a project being planned, I update a blog post preparing for it & turn it into a scrapbook of ideas & planning.

Found the source of the problems with my PC

I am proud to finally tell y’all that I believe I have found a definite source of the problems I have been experiencing with my Windows PC over the past few days. It was because of a faulty Windows 10 preview update which was affecting the Windows 10 Recovery Environment. Luckily, I have found a trustworthy program (free of malware) which I could use to debug errors in my PC at any time, minor or major. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s happened when I tried to fix windows PC’s in the past. I am still taking  every precaution possible to further decrease the chance of my Windows PC breaking down or crashing. As a matter of fact, my PC almost crashed  this morning , but luckily, I was able to hard-restart the PC to get it working again by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s h...

LIFT FILMING AGENDA UPDATE 1.25.2019 & WILL CHICAGO BE CROWNED THE NEW KING?

Chicago holds a high possibility of being crowned first place . What if I told you that Chicago has some rare and exotic lifts that you probably won’t find in many other places in the U.S.? That is an existence a lift filmer will be delighted with when they go to the city of Chicago. My four figures of reference were: WI Sirens and Elevators Elevators of Lake County CHI Elevators Windy City Elevators Because I have found so many outstanding Montgomery, Dover, SchindlerHaughton, Westinghouse and KONE lifts throughout the city of Chicago, it wouldn’t be sensible for me to write it all under one big blog post, because it would be a big waste of time for me to go into big, elaborate detail on what made each lift stand out. What I found on YouTube in terms of Chicago lifts Mitsubishi and Fujitec These lift filmers have walked around the city of Chicago filming some super nice lifts, and in the process of watching YouTube videos over the past few months, I have found that Ch...

QUICK RUNDOWN OF THE NORMAL BEHAVIOR OF A 700A

Tallest 700A’s I have been on Arguably, at 20 stories, these have been the tallest Schindler 700A’s I have EVER been on, and the first I’ve been on in a hotel. However, I have noticed some interesting characteristics of the Schindler 700A in mid to high rise applications. Epic lifts indeed To start off, these lifts had absolutely incredible acceleration, deceleration and leveling. They take off like rockets and travel at a mindblowing speed of 120 meters per minute, despite serving a travel distance of 55-60 meters. The deceleration is similar to the Schindler 700A’s at the Nordstrom store at the Mall at Short Hills, as it smoothly phases into its full deceleration mode. In terms of character, these lifts do tend to make a little bit of noise and shake on the way up and down the tower. Car 3 makes a very loud screeching noise as it accelerates towards level 17 going down, which I find to make the ride even more fun. These lifts were installed in 1993, which gives them even more 199...
