Let’s add Washington D.C & Arlington County to this list! And Hartford trip update #2

Hi frirnds,

Washington D.C.

I am very excited to officially open a NEW empty spot for Washington D.C. Over the past several months, I have seen a lot of different lift videos from Washington DC (of course, paying attention to EVERY INCH OF DETAIL PER VIDEO) & I will have to say, I was blown away with what I was seeing! There are quite a handful of Montgomery lifts, OTIS Gen2, Westinghouse lifts, Dover relay logic lifts Schindler 6400 & 400A, a few KONE lifts & there are even Schindler glass lifts! Of course, I saw a few ThyssenKrupp lifts & clicked on a different lift video each time I saw a ThyssenKrupp lift video. Here is what I got:

  • I predict Washington DC’s average lift criticism rating at a solid 9/15, which is the same average rating as I gave both Freehold & Clinton Township.
  • As for lifts, MOST are OTIS, but they are interesting forms of modern OTIS lifts, including some generic OTIS heavy duty lifts at the Smithsonian African Museum in downtown Washington DC, high speed OTIS MRLs at Marriott’s Marquis & other interesting forms of Gen2 lifts not normally seen, EVEN IN CHARLOTTE! As for Schindler lifts, I have seen a few Schindler 6400/400A lift videos, including some Innovation Schindler modernisations, for example, Marriott hotel at Wardman Park, which has a 1980’s OTIS, which got modernised by Schindler with new motors, controllers & Innovation buttons. Just recently, I was watching a video of that same lift & needless to say, I was pretty impressed with how it was running.
  • If I had to make a prediction where Washington DC/Arlington County would end up on CCRS, it would probably steal Roanoke’s placement & shift every city below Washington D.C. one place lower.
  • As for activities, I SERIOUSLY loved going to the monuments & then going on the trolley. Additionally, the trolley even goes up a MOUNTAIN! This was a very epic trolley! Arlington Cemetery was a beautiful cemetery too.
  • All of the buildings in Washington D.C. are of my favorite height: 10-15 floors. Out of all of the Washington D.C. lift videos, the tallest lifts I’ve seen were in the Marriott Marquis, J.W. Marriott & City Center Marriott (where I filmed the lifts)

On October 27, I will add both Washington D.C. & Arlington to the list, at 8:45 AM.

Hartford

As for Hartford, it isn’t likely we will be going to Hartford at all, but either way, I could care much less about going to Hartford now, after the fiasco that happened in Atlantic City this past August which unfortunately “partly” ruined my desire for filming lifts off the NYC/Clinton Township band.

Why Schindler & KONE make the best traction lifts

Over the past 2 & a half years of filming lifts at different buildings all over the Eastern Seaboard, I have managed to film a handful of OTIS, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp & KONE traction lifts. Here is my assumption: Schindler & KONE make the best traction & MRL traction lifts of any of the 4 major lift brands. Of course, this could be based on personal bias, but it doesn’t go without knowledge that Schindler lifts, are in fact, more efficient time-based than let’s say, ThyssenKrupp lifts. Here are some things that I really love about Schindler & KONE traction lifts. Their fast acceleration / leveling It is no surprise that Schindler & KONE have some of the fastest average accelerating rates of any major lift brand. This is because Schindler & KONE have a perfect reference-tackle system, which is almost unbeatable by standards of other lift brands. One thing I have noticed when riding Schindler lifts is even at low speeds (200-400 FPM), you head feels like...

Found the source of the problems with my PC

I am proud to finally tell y’all that I believe I have found a definite source of the problems I have been experiencing with my Windows PC over the past few days. It was because of a faulty Windows 10 preview update which was affecting the Windows 10 Recovery Environment. Luckily, I have found a trustworthy program (free of malware) which I could use to debug errors in my PC at any time, minor or major. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s happened when I tried to fix windows PC’s in the past. I am still taking  every precaution possible to further decrease the chance of my Windows PC breaking down or crashing. As a matter of fact, my PC almost crashed  this morning , but luckily, I was able to hard-restart the PC to get it working again by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s h...

THE OTIS IN ANAHEIM

Before writing this report, let me quickly give you some background on the lifts and escalators that I have seen during my time at DisneyLand in Anaheim, California with my family. Brief Overview While I was at DisneyLand in Anaheim, I have encountered four sets of very tall MontgomeryKONE escalators, a set of two very fast MontgomeryKONE traction units (partially outdoor as the first landing had a rear door that opened on the outside of the building), this OTIS hydro here that I managed to ride and film & another OTIS hydro that I didn’t get to ride nor film. These lifts, regardless, were still very awesome lifts, but for now, I will be going into a description of this amazing lift. What made this lift so amazing? This particular lift is so amazing because it’s a full-blown commercial hydraulic lift installed fully outdoors , which is rather unusual for an outdoor lift. This alone made it amazing. Upon first glance, it looks like a pretty standard lift that you would typical...
