LIFT FILMING AGENDA UPDATE FOR THE NEXT 3 MONTHS

For the next quarter of 2018, I now have no specific plans to film any more lifts outside of Hunterdon County. My most recent trip to Scranton PA left a bitter taste in my mouth (A similar thing that happened in Atlantic City happened in Scranton). To REDUCE RISK of future bad spells from future CCRS trips when I’m NOT going there by myself, I am restricting my boundaries strictly to Hunterdon County. This goes with saying that I am PERFECTLY happy staying inside of Hunterdon County, as Hunterdon County still has a small selection of good lifts in their low rising buildings. Here is a list of every trip this part of the year that was supposed to happen but have been canceled BECAUSE OF Atlantic City & partly Scranton:

  • THREE Elizabeth trips (9.15, 10.13 & 12.15)
  • TWO Secaucus trips (11.10 & 12.15)
  • Pittsburgh or Hartford trip (12.22-24)
  • October Hartford trip (10.7-8)

I am quite happy I have canceled these 7 lift filming trips for the close of 2018 since I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much as my FIRST Atlantic City lift filming trip back a year ago. And, here are all of the Winter 2019 trips that have been CANCELED:

  • January trip to Secaucus (1.19.2019)
  • Birthday trip to Atlantic City (2.8-10.2019), instead I may EITHER go to Bridgewater Township, Berkeley Heights or STAY in Clinton & film lifts locally near Route 31 in Clinton & Flemington.
  • March 2019 Elizabeth lift filming trip (3.2.19)
  • March 2019 Freehold lift filming trip (3.16.19)

On March 8, at 3:30, I am going for my driving road test in Randolph Township. If I PASS the road test & end up getting my license on that day, then I am going to PAUSE my lift filming career UNTIL I get my own car. Future plans for lift filming will be discussed when I get my own car & it is properly insured. For now, you will have to be satisfied with lift videos from Clinton and possibly Bridgewater Townships until I get that oyster card!

In December 2018, there has been talk about a possible trip to a random city in the US. All I know is that there is an overwhelmingly high chance that it is taking place within the Charlotte-Carolina Ranking System. Because this is not a solo trip, I think I am even LESS excited to go on that trip than I was going to Scranton last Saturday. Regardless of the city (EVEN NEW YORK CITY), I will film whatever lifts I can film & not worry about better lifts. I am just praying that it’s NOT anywhere south of Atlantic City, anywhere east of Hartford, anywhere north of Albany or anywhere west of Scranton. If I don’t film any lifts, I will still not mind, because I have lost much interest in filming lifts until I can drive to the ones that I am interested filming! With that in mind, I will not write gigantic update journal posts on our uncertain December trip as I am probably NOT EXCITED to go anyway! In fact, I’m more excited to go to New York City than I am going to Bridgewater Township!

FTR, my plans to film lifts in Charlotte during July 2019 have BEEN CANCELED, for fear of the same thing happening in Charlotte that happened in Atlantic City back in August 2018. I will ATTEMPT to go to Charlotte for my university graduation trip though. The furthest I’m going from Clinton Township during the summer of 2019 is Atlantic City.

Why Schindler & KONE make the best traction lifts

Over the past 2 & a half years of filming lifts at different buildings all over the Eastern Seaboard, I have managed to film a handful of OTIS, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp & KONE traction lifts. Here is my assumption: Schindler & KONE make the best traction & MRL traction lifts of any of the 4 major lift brands. Of course, this could be based on personal bias, but it doesn’t go without knowledge that Schindler lifts, are in fact, more efficient time-based than let’s say, ThyssenKrupp lifts. Here are some things that I really love about Schindler & KONE traction lifts. Their fast acceleration / leveling It is no surprise that Schindler & KONE have some of the fastest average accelerating rates of any major lift brand. This is because Schindler & KONE have a perfect reference-tackle system, which is almost unbeatable by standards of other lift brands. One thing I have noticed when riding Schindler lifts is even at low speeds (200-400 FPM), you head feels like...

Found the source of the problems with my PC

I am proud to finally tell y’all that I believe I have found a definite source of the problems I have been experiencing with my Windows PC over the past few days. It was because of a faulty Windows 10 preview update which was affecting the Windows 10 Recovery Environment. Luckily, I have found a trustworthy program (free of malware) which I could use to debug errors in my PC at any time, minor or major. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s happened when I tried to fix windows PC’s in the past. I am still taking  every precaution possible to further decrease the chance of my Windows PC breaking down or crashing. As a matter of fact, my PC almost crashed  this morning , but luckily, I was able to hard-restart the PC to get it working again by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s h...

THE OTIS IN ANAHEIM

Before writing this report, let me quickly give you some background on the lifts and escalators that I have seen during my time at DisneyLand in Anaheim, California with my family. Brief Overview While I was at DisneyLand in Anaheim, I have encountered four sets of very tall MontgomeryKONE escalators, a set of two very fast MontgomeryKONE traction units (partially outdoor as the first landing had a rear door that opened on the outside of the building), this OTIS hydro here that I managed to ride and film & another OTIS hydro that I didn’t get to ride nor film. These lifts, regardless, were still very awesome lifts, but for now, I will be going into a description of this amazing lift. What made this lift so amazing? This particular lift is so amazing because it’s a full-blown commercial hydraulic lift installed fully outdoors , which is rather unusual for an outdoor lift. This alone made it amazing. Upon first glance, it looks like a pretty standard lift that you would typical...
