Best practice when planning a lift filming day

Always plan for the best case scenario  to happen. The best case scenario rarely happens , so it's best to have a theoretical plan of all the lifts you want to film should everything go right  (e.g. no security, all lifts unlocked, no turnstiles, no locked doors to get to lifts, etc.) While an overly optimistic move, it can be a good thing to have a back up plan in place everything goes right.  You won't be left wondering what to film during the best case scenario & you'll always be prepared no matter which case scenario happens.  To maintain a humble attitude during your lift filming trips, expect  the worst but prepare  for the best. Plan to create & edit content the second you get home from your trip or back to the hotel room. Pretty straightforward. Open your computer, open your video editing app, import all your pictures & videos from your phone, put your head down & grind until your time is up (save the project) or until you have your ...

Clinton Township Times: Week of 6/13/2021

Car 1 D20 call station (Lower terminal) D20 car interior D20 buttons D20 FPI D20 down indicator D20 lights The first lift is a KONE orange D20 lift which was installed in 2013 when the shopping center was expanded. This lift travels 1.5 P & is a great lift due to how it jolts, clunks & glitches. I really like the way it has semi-classic leveling & pre-doors. This lift is very fast for the distance it serves & has a basic standard car interior. Overall, a great lift. Car 2 KSS 140 OOS Indicator KSS 140 Intermediate Call Station KSS 140 Landing KSS 140 Interior Fixtures KSS 140 Internal FPI This lift is located at the taller part of the car park terrace outside of Urban Outfitters on the second floor of the shopping center. It is a KONE KSS 140 which was also installed in 2013. This lift serves 5 floors & travels 1.5 P. It is an epic & awesome lift due to how it classic levels, jolts, screeches, clunks & makes several shaft noises going up & down. It provi...

Clinton Township Times Lift Character Review: Freehold Raceway Mall

Let’s start off with the first lift as pictured below which is a Schindler 300A dry-powered hydraulic lift from the mid-90’s: It has Schindler MT short-bar buttons, a wooden car interior, new LED lights (cab renovated during COVID-19 pandemic) & a stainless steel frame with stainless steel handrails. It serves 3 stops & has a dry-powered hydraulic motor which sounds pretty nice, but it isn’t something to write home about. I really like the jolts & bounces this thing makes on the way up & down, but it is still a basic standard lift you can find at many different Macy’s stores across North America, so its final grade is a C+. The second lift I was able to film was a very nice EXCEL DOVER (meaning it got modernised by EXCEL from its Dover Impulse fixtures. The fixtures from the first glance are nothing special but zooming inward they use concave Innovation Security which is very rare. The lift also has a very unique “Doors open” “Door close” announcement which goes off eve...

Clinton Township Times Lift Character Review: 7995 LBJ Dallas (Filmed by DieselDucy)

Lift Character Review 7995 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway: Dallas TX Filmed by DieselDucy. Video here . Lift Character Report here . Lift Details Original Brand | Baxter & Sons Modernised Brand | Kone Power | Submersible Standard Hydraulic Lift Character Report Appearance | 757 (Great) Run Character | 718 (Great) Appearance Appearance: 757 / ~4.2 stars (Great) Fixtures: 0:08-0:26 Cab: 0:11-0:15 Analysis At first glance, as the lift door opens to the right, we’re greeted with a light wooden cab interior with tiled down hanging fluorescent translucent lighting of a slightly warmer tone. The handrails are pretty basic standard brushed steel. To the left of the video on frame, we see a super nice white-illuminated Kone proprietary lantern with a typical Kone chime. The door type, as can be seen, is a painted left-hand single-speed door (opens to the right, on film, from the outside). So far, the cab seems to transmit great vibes. Further into the video, as the occupants of the lift pr...
