What's the LA trip verdict going to be?

So far, the probability of this trip happening is under 5%. As much as I am disappointed for the continuous steady drop in our likelihood of going & as much as you guys especially are disappointed of this unfortunate unlikelihood, just remember you & I must stay strong & pray that we are at the minimum just going to Charlotte during the high school graduation trip.

What will happen if it ends up being a NO?

If it ends up being a no, you & I will definitely be upset for the moment, but in the meantime, a new probably trend chart will open up between now & Christmas week of us going to Pittsburgh. From Verdict Day until the week BEFORE Christmas week, I will give you new charts once weekly. Your job will be to recognize a trend between each chart to determine the likelihood of us going to Pittsburgh. A final verdict will be on the EleFilm blog by December 22nd.

In addition, if we are NOT going to Pittsburgh by December 22nd (a verdict will be up by the 22nd anyway at 4:15 PM if LA IS NOT HAPPENING), then, you will know of any immediate emergency plans which I currently have in place for the worst case scenario. These plans include, but are not limited to:
  • Going to the Hyatt Centric, Le Parker Meridien, Marriott Marquis, WTC & / or the Millennium WTC Hilton hotel in New York City (This time I will not film any generic lift that goes beyond 5 floors unless I know for definite sure it is hydraulic).
  • Going back to Secaucus to film epic lifts that I haven't been able to go to film during my past 2 to 3 trips to Secaucus to film lifts
  • Going to Atlantic City
  • Going to Cromwell

What will happen if it miraculously is NOT a no?

Well, if that happens (I have huge doubts it will though), you & I will definitely be extremely excited just for the moment. Between the verdict days & December 17, a big blog post will be developed & it will come to the EleFilm blog. It will be developed over a series of days so that only the most accurate information possible could be delivered. I will gradually add to the post when I find out important details of the trip itinerary. However, if we end up being able to go to LA & if we do go, these are the three places I want to film the lifts:
  • OUE Skyspace LA
  • Wilshire Grand Plaza
  • Holiday Inn Express Burbank (Tower hotels)
In addition, if we do end up being able to go & end up going anyway, expect lots of pre-trip posts to be popping up on the EleFilm blog randomly between the moment the blog post for the itinerary pops up (on December 17) & the night before we get on the plane.

For lift videos, you will know what lifts I have filmed in a #FRIRND post AFTER I FILMED THE LIFT! You will not know beforehand, they will all be surprises. I am doing the exact opposite of what I did on the Fort Lauderdale trip, though as a way to avoid this being a disaster. Remember, I'm going to LA to be amazed, not miss out!

How to prepare in the meantime

While you're waiting for the verdict to show up on December 7 (which is literally not even 2 weeks away), keep your mind at ease by not even thinking about it & having a good time with your friends to cool off. If anything should happen you will be notified of it right away via #FRIRND.

Why Schindler & KONE make the best traction lifts

Over the past 2 & a half years of filming lifts at different buildings all over the Eastern Seaboard, I have managed to film a handful of OTIS, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp & KONE traction lifts. Here is my assumption: Schindler & KONE make the best traction & MRL traction lifts of any of the 4 major lift brands. Of course, this could be based on personal bias, but it doesn’t go without knowledge that Schindler lifts, are in fact, more efficient time-based than let’s say, ThyssenKrupp lifts. Here are some things that I really love about Schindler & KONE traction lifts. Their fast acceleration / leveling It is no surprise that Schindler & KONE have some of the fastest average accelerating rates of any major lift brand. This is because Schindler & KONE have a perfect reference-tackle system, which is almost unbeatable by standards of other lift brands. One thing I have noticed when riding Schindler lifts is even at low speeds (200-400 FPM), you head feels like...

Found the source of the problems with my PC

I am proud to finally tell y’all that I believe I have found a definite source of the problems I have been experiencing with my Windows PC over the past few days. It was because of a faulty Windows 10 preview update which was affecting the Windows 10 Recovery Environment. Luckily, I have found a trustworthy program (free of malware) which I could use to debug errors in my PC at any time, minor or major. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s happened when I tried to fix windows PC’s in the past. I am still taking  every precaution possible to further decrease the chance of my Windows PC breaking down or crashing. As a matter of fact, my PC almost crashed  this morning , but luckily, I was able to hard-restart the PC to get it working again by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s h...

THE OTIS IN ANAHEIM

Before writing this report, let me quickly give you some background on the lifts and escalators that I have seen during my time at DisneyLand in Anaheim, California with my family. Brief Overview While I was at DisneyLand in Anaheim, I have encountered four sets of very tall MontgomeryKONE escalators, a set of two very fast MontgomeryKONE traction units (partially outdoor as the first landing had a rear door that opened on the outside of the building), this OTIS hydro here that I managed to ride and film & another OTIS hydro that I didn’t get to ride nor film. These lifts, regardless, were still very awesome lifts, but for now, I will be going into a description of this amazing lift. What made this lift so amazing? This particular lift is so amazing because it’s a full-blown commercial hydraulic lift installed fully outdoors , which is rather unusual for an outdoor lift. This alone made it amazing. Upon first glance, it looks like a pretty standard lift that you would typical...
