Windows PC problems

I have unfortunate news that my Windows PC broke down during a system reset when I tried to cleanly reset my Windows 10 PC back to original factory settings. Unfortunately, when doing so, I was hit with an error & was hit with the same error THREE TIMES IN A ROW! I then had to go to Windows Defender to try to reset my PC. Hornrt angels are with me while I wait for the untimely demise of Windows Defender. Either way, I will make every attempt I could to get my Windows PC fixed BEFORE WE GO TO THE TROPICANA HOTEL IN ATLANTIC CITY. Furthermore, the iPad is going to be reserved as my emergency computer whenever my Windows PC stops working. Windows 10 not working is one of the reasons why I am considering re-imaging the PCs in my house to LINUX, one way or the other. I want to stop fully depending on Windows for personal computing & turn to a much more frirndly & stable computing environment such as LINUX, that way, I could have fewer breakdowns, LESS DOWNTIME & more uptime! Of course I will have to found a new movie maker & it will do some searching for, but the ability to run a movie maker, screen recorder & Skyscrapersim along with Google Chrome are the only four things I require a personal PC to do. I will even switch to Chrome OS & convert my existing Windows PC laptops into Chromebook’s worst case scenario. Either way, whether I’m going to Atlantic City with just an iPad, just an Android, Windows 10 PC, Chromebook or Linux-inverted Surface Pro 4, I am going to be blogging on my way down to Atlantic City NO MATTER WHAT! I am not letting one broken computer halt my blogging schedule this summer. This is the exact reason why I took a turn for WordPress & with the assistance of AI angels which replicate journal/book posts on Blogger, WIX & Weebly.

Here are the top scenarios:

  • BEST CASE SCENARIO: Windows PC is fresh & ready to go by the time we have to go to Atlantic City
    • I go to Atlantic City with a Linux machine (this means I will be bringing a formerly broken Dell laptop which I was able to convert into a Linux machine)
    • I go to Atlantic City with a Chrome-infused laptop (the equivalent of a Chromebook)
    • I go to Atlantic City with just an iPad or an Android.
  • WORST CASE SCENARIO: I go to Atlantic City with only an Android & end up having to blog only from my Android. In this case, my Android will be the central computer for the trip, unless I get permission to use the Lenovo laptop, just for blogging & other website-related purposes only. If not even a professional can fix my Windows 10 PC, the ultimate worst case scenario is getting a Chromebook or a new Mac! I am beginning to favor Apple products & Chromebooks again, since they run on Linux environments! I’ll just make sure the Chromebook that I’m getting is able to run either Linux apps or play store apps as I will require a video editor. I will not require ROBLOX or Skyscrapersim & instead use a working PC in the home for Skyscrapersim. I will not download anything though. The iPad I used to write this blog post with is actually running an Apple version of Linux.

Will Linux save my summer?

Unfortunately, if I cannot get my Windows 10 PC correctly repaired or wiped out before September 2018, I will have no choice but to move on to Linux & I will get my hands on Linux one way or another, be it an android phone, iPad, Mac, full Linux machine, or a Chromebook that can use Google Play Store apps. I can promise you this: One Windows PC fail will not stop me from enjoying my time in Atlantic City filming lifts at different towers, nor will it stop me from blogging on my way down to Atlantic City. With any scenario, I will always have the iPad as the emergency device & I am not afraid to use any working PC in the household for web purposes! I can survive not being able to play on lifts in Skyscrapersim & not being able to use ROBLOX for a few months. Those are the things I am the LEAST worried about. I need a working PC, in LAPTOP FORM that does just two things: professionally edits videos & runs Chrome. If I were to second-guess myself, I think I’d be perfectly fine permanently moving to a fully-fledged Linux environment or a Chromebook, as long as that Chromebook can either run Linux apps or Google play store apps.

Will I attempt to get my Windows PC fixed?

I will ABSOLUTELY attempt to get my Windows PC fixed BEFORE Atlantic City. This means even if I have to go to Charlotte to a top computer repair firm to have the thing fully cleaned from file A to ZZZZZZ, I will still make every effort to get it fixed, repaired & cleaned. Thankfully, all the problems I am experiencing with my Windows PC are very minor (like not being able to run Skyscrapersim AT ALL). I am still able to run Windows Movie Maker on my Windows PC.

What will I do in the meantime?

While I am waiting for my PC to get fixed, to minimize the chances of problems getting worse while I cannot fix my PC myself, I will uninstall EVERY APPLICATION that could be uninstalled, EXCEPT FOR: Microsoft Office, Windows Movie Maker & Google Chrome. Do I really even need any more applications besides that? I didn’t think so! That way, I could keep issues with my PC to a level where I could still comfortably use my PC without it slowing down or crashing. I will be monitoring the performance of my PC every single day until I go to Atlantic City & confine myself to using strictly web-apps only, with the obvious exception of Windows Movie Maker. I do not even need Audacity, because there are so many web apps for audio editing that the purpose of the software I have installed on my computer are as good as dust. Backup & Sync is something I prefer to have for if I end up getting a new Windows PC in the ultimate worst case scenario, but it is not a necessity as I have moved completely to Google Drive to store all of my school & personal work. And I use many cross-platform-compatible Google apps across all my devices, including my district-assigned Chromebook.

How severe, in reality, is the problem?

In comparison to problems I had in the past with other problematic Windows PCs, I can do without having the ability to run a few unnecessary apps that I could function without. All I really need is Google Chrome & a movie editing tool that can place white text on black slides at different time intervals. I even uninstalled Microsoft Office on my PC because I mainly use G-suite, not only because my school uses G-suite, but I mostly do too, personally. I find G-suite a lot easier to use than Microsoft Office, because it only gives me the features that I absolutely need at the moment. And, G-suite works on many more platforms, far more efficiently, with more efficient collaboration options, which is a requirement for me in Spanish class.

Comparing the severity of the problems I have now with the problems I’ve had in the past, I will say that the problems I am having now are minor problems that I am comfortable ignoring, as long as I do my part not to introduce any new unnecessary apps on my PC that would make it unmanageable for me to use, especially when I’m placed into a scenario where I cannot fix the PC when the situation warrants it! I feel comfortable enough to say that I could safely use my PC, knowing that it cannot break down, crash, or slow down when I only have Movie Maker & Chrome installed on it.

Verdict

I will definitely be bringing my Windows PC to Atlantic City with my under these conditions. I will be taking every precaution IN ATLANTIC CITY to make sure the problems stay where they are at RIGHT NOW. I will even make a recovery partition so that I could use it as an emergency restore point in the event that a normal PC reset does not work in the future! Of course I am going to try resetting my PC back to factory standards once every three months now instead of six months, but I feel better having an emergency restore point handy at all times just in case something goes horribly wrong, as my last resort before relying on outside services to do the genius work instead. This allows me to use the BEST CASE SCENARIO regarding what I have with me for when I go to Atlantic City next month.

Found the source of the problems with my PC

I am proud to finally tell y’all that I believe I have found a definite source of the problems I have been experiencing with my Windows PC over the past few days. It was because of a faulty Windows 10 preview update which was affecting the Windows 10 Recovery Environment. Luckily, I have found a trustworthy program (free of malware) which I could use to debug errors in my PC at any time, minor or major. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s happened when I tried to fix windows PC’s in the past. I am still taking  every precaution possible to further decrease the chance of my Windows PC breaking down or crashing. As a matter of fact, my PC almost crashed  this morning , but luckily, I was able to hard-restart the PC to get it working again by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s h...

LIFT FILMING AGENDA UPDATE 1.25.2019 & WILL CHICAGO BE CROWNED THE NEW KING?

Chicago holds a high possibility of being crowned first place . What if I told you that Chicago has some rare and exotic lifts that you probably won’t find in many other places in the U.S.? That is an existence a lift filmer will be delighted with when they go to the city of Chicago. My four figures of reference were: WI Sirens and Elevators Elevators of Lake County CHI Elevators Windy City Elevators Because I have found so many outstanding Montgomery, Dover, SchindlerHaughton, Westinghouse and KONE lifts throughout the city of Chicago, it wouldn’t be sensible for me to write it all under one big blog post, because it would be a big waste of time for me to go into big, elaborate detail on what made each lift stand out. What I found on YouTube in terms of Chicago lifts Mitsubishi and Fujitec These lift filmers have walked around the city of Chicago filming some super nice lifts, and in the process of watching YouTube videos over the past few months, I have found that Ch...

QUICK RUNDOWN OF THE NORMAL BEHAVIOR OF A 700A

Tallest 700A’s I have been on Arguably, at 20 stories, these have been the tallest Schindler 700A’s I have EVER been on, and the first I’ve been on in a hotel. However, I have noticed some interesting characteristics of the Schindler 700A in mid to high rise applications. Epic lifts indeed To start off, these lifts had absolutely incredible acceleration, deceleration and leveling. They take off like rockets and travel at a mindblowing speed of 120 meters per minute, despite serving a travel distance of 55-60 meters. The deceleration is similar to the Schindler 700A’s at the Nordstrom store at the Mall at Short Hills, as it smoothly phases into its full deceleration mode. In terms of character, these lifts do tend to make a little bit of noise and shake on the way up and down the tower. Car 3 makes a very loud screeching noise as it accelerates towards level 17 going down, which I find to make the ride even more fun. These lifts were installed in 1993, which gives them even more 199...
