It is argued within the lift filming community that the Schindler 330A is one of the most boring modern lifts on the market to film. Well, in response to a lot of roasting of the Schindler HT & 330A hydraulic lift product by a slew of lift photographers, I have created this book post as an adverse reaction to that claim & here I am going to give you examples which contrast to the beliefs of the US Lift filming community.
They have NO character!
This is absolutely NOT TRUE! The Schindler 330A may look boring because it’s a standard lift you see in every day low rise buildings nowadays, but there are very interesting hidden elements within the 330A lift that any ordinary lift photographer wouldn’t be willing to pay attention to, including:
- Squeaky doors
- Instantaneous acceleration, deceleration & mild plop leveling
- Loud motors
- Runaway floor indicators
And quite frankly, while I was filming the Schindler 330A HT lift you see in the header picture, those were only a few of the hidden characterful elements I was able to pay attention to while filming.
A basic form of Schindler HT PREMIUM 330A hydraulic would rank at a 10 / 15 on the lift criticism chart:
- CHARACTER: 12 / 15
- STYLE: 6 / 15
- CLASS: 13 / 15
- FINAL SCORE: 10 / 15
This is the score of a typical publicly accessible lift in Charlotte North Carolina. Some Schindler 330A lifts may have a character score ranging from 6 to 10, while others 13 to 14. As far as how it runs, I am pretty impressed with what I have noticed when filming this Schindler HT Premium 330A lift & I’m glad I had the opportunity to film this. The worst lift at the Tropicana hotel in Atlantic City is also a Schindler HT VR 330A lift.
