Top 5 Best Lifts at Kean University (Locations UNDISCLOSED)

Top 5 Best Lifts at Kean University

I showcase to you the top 5 best lifts at Kean University.

4 & 5. Old Cesco & Arrow Lifts

Both of these lifts are okay lifts & there isn’t really much character or personality to them, but these are the worst lifts you can find at Kean University. Location of specific lifts within the university will not be disclosed for privacy reasons. These are generic hydros with GAL fixtures installed by Cesco and Arrow, respectively. The one on the left was installed in the 60s by a generic lift company but then later modernised in the mid-2000’s by Cesco. The one on the right was installed in the early 90s by Arrow, then got slightly modernised in the mid 2000’s just like the Cesco. Both travel at a speed of 0.5 meters per second & they both rank at 2.5 stars on General Chicago’s 6-point Lift Character Report.

3. High Speed Generic

This lift is one of my personal favorites due to the way it runs. However, it looks like a basic standard Generic but it’s only 10% of the equation. There isn’t much to say about this lift other than it is generic. It ranks 3.5 stars on the General Chicago’s Lift Character Report, within the top 5% of generic lifts in general.

2. 🔥🔥 EVEN OLDER LIFT

This ‘57 top-drive, dry-powered (possibly piston-pump) hydraulic lift was absolutely awesome. It only goes 0.18 meters per second (~35 FPM) going up & around 0.4 m/s (80 FPM) going down, but it is still a very fun lift. It has a super epic motor going up which sounds unlike any other hydraulic I’ve been on. This epic lift is also very small & is one of the few not to have broken down yet during my time on campus. It is very nice & according to the General Chicago’s Lift Character Report, ranks in at 4.3 stars making it the second best lift at the university. This is only a five minute sprint from the #1 spot.

1. 🔥🔥 VERY OLD LIFT

This ‘61 Armor, located in one of the theater buildings, is an impressive piece of heritage. Coupled with a very slight modernisation involving replacement of the buttons with new GAL buttons in the 80s & a super epic motor & ride character, this lift steals the crown with additional 2-speed leveling & exceptionally smooth & quiet door movement. It makes a lot of noise in the shaft but it just adds to the character. According to the General Chicago Lift Character Report, this lift ranks in at 4.6 stars making it EPIC & AWESOME! Why Schindler & KONE make the best traction lifts

Over the past 2 & a half years of filming lifts at different buildings all over the Eastern Seaboard, I have managed to film a handful of OTIS, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp & KONE traction lifts. Here is my assumption: Schindler & KONE make the best traction & MRL traction lifts of any of the 4 major lift brands. Of course, this could be based on personal bias, but it doesn’t go without knowledge that Schindler lifts, are in fact, more efficient time-based than let’s say, ThyssenKrupp lifts. Here are some things that I really love about Schindler & KONE traction lifts. Their fast acceleration / leveling It is no surprise that Schindler & KONE have some of the fastest average accelerating rates of any major lift brand. This is because Schindler & KONE have a perfect reference-tackle system, which is almost unbeatable by standards of other lift brands. One thing I have noticed when riding Schindler lifts is even at low speeds (200-400 FPM), you head feels like...

Found the source of the problems with my PC

I am proud to finally tell y’all that I believe I have found a definite source of the problems I have been experiencing with my Windows PC over the past few days. It was because of a faulty Windows 10 preview update which was affecting the Windows 10 Recovery Environment. Luckily, I have found a trustworthy program (free of malware) which I could use to debug errors in my PC at any time, minor or major. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s happened when I tried to fix windows PC’s in the past. I am still taking  every precaution possible to further decrease the chance of my Windows PC breaking down or crashing. As a matter of fact, my PC almost crashed  this morning , but luckily, I was able to hard-restart the PC to get it working again by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s h...

THE OTIS IN ANAHEIM

Before writing this report, let me quickly give you some background on the lifts and escalators that I have seen during my time at DisneyLand in Anaheim, California with my family. Brief Overview While I was at DisneyLand in Anaheim, I have encountered four sets of very tall MontgomeryKONE escalators, a set of two very fast MontgomeryKONE traction units (partially outdoor as the first landing had a rear door that opened on the outside of the building), this OTIS hydro here that I managed to ride and film & another OTIS hydro that I didn’t get to ride nor film. These lifts, regardless, were still very awesome lifts, but for now, I will be going into a description of this amazing lift. What made this lift so amazing? This particular lift is so amazing because it’s a full-blown commercial hydraulic lift installed fully outdoors , which is rather unusual for an outdoor lift. This alone made it amazing. Upon first glance, it looks like a pretty standard lift that you would typical...
