ALARM!!! TRULY HORRIFIC FORECAST FOR PITTSBURGH

Could Pittsburgh end up being a failure like Los Angeles? Due to rising suspicion of pretty dangerous weather patterns  for much of western Pennsylvania, the likelihood of us going to Pittsburgh this upcoming Friday & Saturday has been swayed so low that if the trendline continues going down at the same rate as the trendline for Los Angeles did on the morning of December 7, we might not be going to Pittsburgh at all  tomorrow!  While that will suck, at least I was able to introduce new angelical cities in Connecticut to the Charlotte Kingdom, so this Christmas week wouldn't be meaningless after all. Bottom line is, if a trip is brainstormed for any city of the Charlotte Kingdom , expect it to most likely NOT work out, unless it's Hartford or Secaucus. What happens, if I still end up going to Pittsburgh? If that is to happen (I still highly doubt it will though), I don't have specific  plans for what hotel I am staying at or what lifts I would like to fi...

Charlotte Kingdom is born & a Connecticut weekend well spent

After becoming extremely impressed with the epicness of just a FEW of the lifts & buildings I was able to personally experience  when I went to New Haven & Hartford, alongside YouTube videos, I have chosen to introduce these two "U.K. feel" cities to the Charlotte Kingdom!  What is Charlotte Kingdom? Charlotte Kingdom is a kingdom of greater areas [usually areas surrounding a city of at LEAST 10 miles] of epic cities to film lifts. The greater areas may consist of multiple counties surrounding a county's seat city. There are currently 12 areas. These are the 12 greater areas of the Charlotte Kingdom, whose total greater areas combined  equate to thousands among THOUSANDS of square miles of generally film-worthy lifts. At least 85 percent of one area's lifts are worth filming!  Only about 2 percent of lifts throughout the ENTIRE KINGDOM  have Monitor TR Areas of Charlotte Kingdom Charlotte (THE BEST U.S. CITY TO FILM LIFTS) Pin...

Lots of fun in the lifts today at my hotel in Cromwell

The perfect alternative for going to LA Although the Los Angeles  trip (which is now canceled) didn't happen today & I didn't fly on the plane I was supposed to fly today, or didn't stay in the angelic 23-story hotel in LA's sister city that I was supposed to stay at, my lift experience in Cromwell has definitely made up for it. Modernized 80s OTIS #2 I have some pretty sad news about the 1985 OTIS lift that I filmed back in October (which was original back then) . It sadly got modernized & this mod was from 2017 while the other mod was from 2014! I felt pretty enraged  about the mod, but after going back in thought to all the terrible Monitor TR's NYC has, I accepted the mod & dealt with it. However, I would like to point out that there were some problems with how the lift was running, however, not serious .  This mod was not the worst, but I have seen better. Notice how they used green Series 2 buttons to keep the original 1980s/1990...

Atlantic City December 23rd update

During the weekend of February 3rd, so far, we are supposed to be heading down to Atlantic City to stay at the Borgata Hotel . At the chart above, you see the current statistics above, which shows a curvy likelihood of us going to Atlantic City. We see this rise in likelihood between January 8 & January 15, but then we see a 9% drop in likelihood between January 21 & January 28. While this isn't necessarily alarming, it does open up some warnings & causes for concern. What happens if I end up NOT GOING? If the same thing for LA happens this time, I will try to make it up by going to Secaucus to get perfect retakes of lifts I have already filmed for the second, third or fourth time , or possibly going to ONLY THE GOOD LIFTS in New York City (Monitor buttons are not  in the picture). Until then, get excited for tonight because there is a ONE HUNDRED PERCENT  chance that I DEFINITELY WILL  be going to Cromwell & hopefully I will be able to get mas...

What to expect when I go to Cromwell

Up here you see the week-long forecast showing the CURRENT  likelihood of us going to Cromwell. As of right now, we have a 99 percent probability of going to Cromwell, but things are expected to only become brighter by Friday when the probability jumps to 100 percent . By Friday, we will definitely, with zero doubts  be going to Cromwell. We are expected to go to Cromwell from Saturday to Monday . As of this moment, the hotel we are staying in is yet to be decided . I shall have information for you on that either on Friday night or on Saturday morning. What should you expect? As of now, we have eyes on a possible reservation for the Courtyard by Marriott Hartford Cromwell , which has two OTIS hydraulic lifts, one fully original from 1985 & one modernized in 2014. If we do end up staying at this hotel, while I cannot give you exact ideas on how much time I will have to film the lifts, when I DO  have time to film them, I hope to take as much advantage of that t...

Reflecting back on the funniest night of my lift photography career

I will never EVER forget the night where I had the funniest time filming a lift. This was also the night where I broke two records: riding & filming the fastest lift I've ridden by myself & the tallest lift I've ridden by myself .  Going to the Borgata Picture this: it was 9:00 PM at night & I was going to the Borgata hotel from the 15-story Courtyard by Marriott Hotel I was staying at a mile down the road. I arrived at this magnificent, 43-story building with a facade with colorful, shiny lights going all over the place on it. At the top of the building, I saw a colorful sign called "BORGATA". Then I went to my first set of lifts at the Borgata, but there was a very big security camera which made me afraid to film them. They were very fast Otis Gen2 lifts & despite not even going 10 floors, it took not even 20 seconds to get from the top of the carpark to the casino level of the hotel. I rode the lift down to the casino & from there, we wa...

How we can use statistical algebra to pull pranks in the future

I know I might sound pretty evil in this blog post, but sometimes I just have to pull a funny prank on the EleFilm blog! Statistical Algebra Statistical Algebra is a method of using a PB trend to predict the likelihood of us going on trip brainstormed for a long time down the road on a certain day or range of days between the day of conception to the verdict day. It is the art of using data on a graph to make statistically informed predictions on what a future verdict could be way ahead of time. Pros of using statistically-informed predictions Statistically informed predictions could be used to accurately predict the final verdict ahead of time. By combining the theoretical & actual outcomes of past failed  probability experiments, we could use the outcomes to accurately formulate a forecasted  PB trend for a trip which has been recently ideally conceived . By using these types of predictions, we could not only accurately  plot theoretical data for a new forec...

Will Pittsburgh be a replacement trip for LA?

According to PB graphs , the probability of us going to Pittsburgh is currently sitting at a steady 33% . If you pay attention to the graph closely, the days go from December 4 (day of ideal conception ) to December 8 & the percent likelihood of going increases steadily  at a rate of 3 percent per day. Statistic-informed verdict Looking at the current trend of the new graph right now, we see a steady likelihood of us going, which is present after December 17. The maximum likelihood of us going to Pittsburgh on December 29/30 is 33 percent  until hotel reservations are made. I have used the monthly likelihood graphs from our now canceled  Los Angeles trip to accurately predict the pattern for Pittsburgh. Hopefully I go, if I can't go, then I could always go to a different Charlotte-like city during the summer of 2018 , however, I do NOT want Charlotte to be on my list until the year I graduate from high school.

Here is what to hope for when a PB trend looks bad

Introducing making verdicts with statistical algebra Up there, you see the TEASER  probability trend regarding our likelihood of going to LA, x weeks  after the conception of the idea. The reason why I have chosen to use this data-informed graph was to model a sample of a dominantly negative trend. My two sticklers of advice for you It seems that any & every time ideas for trips to Charlotte-like cities were conceived, the PB trend charts seem to frequently  convey the message that we're not going. Don't fret!  Just because the line between 1 point on the x-axis & the next appears to be going DOWN , that doesn't necessarily validate the statement "The trip is canceled" . What happens is, updates on #FRIRND on Google+ will be up more frequently  to keep you calm & to provide you with only the boldest specifics. Look for new graphs on new blog posts about the conceived idea for a Charlotte-like city trip!  These graphs are revised from...

December 2017: Alternatives in place of the canceled LA trip

Cromwell This month, we will hopefully be going to Cromwell (Hartford) Connecticut to see family FRIRNDS, from December 23 to December 25. That has a 95% chance of happening & the trend has stayed at 95%  for the past week. According to the chart you see above, it is a near given  that we will be going to Cromwell on December 23rd. In fact, if the trend continues to stay at 95% until December 15 , you will begin getting blog post updates on Cromwell very frequently , at random, between December 15 & December 23rd. They will mostly include charts about the probability trend (at that time, it will be projected to max out at 99 percent. The reason why it will NEVER EVER be 100 percent is because things could happen on the fly, greatly affecting the probability of us going, or putting it on the JTD (Journey to decimation). However, if we do make reservations for a hotel WITHIN 2 DAYS we scheduled the reservation for,  this makes the probability jump to 100 perc...

Reservations just made for AC: What to expect from now through 2/2

As of yesterday, December 8, at 7:00 PM, reservations for Atlantic City HAVE BEEN MADE . As of now there is a 99 percent probability  that we will be going to Atlantic City at this point, from February 2nd to February 4. While I am excited to be staying at the Borgata hotel  (the hotel we booked a suite for), I still cannot be too excited because, judging by numerous probability experiments conducted before now, they turned out to be real  experiments. This is something I am trying to avoid this time  by providing data-informed verdicts as opposed to final verdicts. I am also excited for the possible future result of this trend because Atlantic City is a "Charlotte for the Rich", based off of their lifts & the Borgata has super EPIC fast (time-efficient) OTIS lifts. How might it go? I CANNOT  be too concrete here, but here is what I could tell you right now if the probability of us going is 100 percent by January 28 : Judging by the July 20 trip t...

New probability trend opened: Atlantic City

Throughout Groundhog Weekend 2018, we are anticipating a possible chance of going to Atlantic City to see a performance by a comedy actor. According to the probability trends, this may include a variable chance of us staying at the Borgata , the Harrah's , or the Courtyard by Marriott . The trends you see above show the forecasted likelihood of us staying at any  of the 3 hotels on February 2nd-3rd  x  amount of weeks after the Atlantic City idea was conceived. As you could clearly tell from the above graph, if Atlantic City is to happen on February 2nd / 3rd, we will most likely end up staying at the Borgata . Thumbs up to those brave traitors ready to summit 100 . The blue trendline below the Borgata's beautiful pink trendline shows the probability (percentile) of us booking a room at the Harrah's Atlantic City hotel. As you could clearly see, that is sitting at a constant 19 percent. Y'all Marriott fans are probably super angry right now , but the trendline for ...

The FINAL LA VERDICT

I am sorry to break it to you FRIRNDS, but the sad reality is, we are unfortunately not going to LA ! I know you guys are definitely extremely devastated, especially the ones looking forward to me filming lifts in one of my favorite Charlotte-like U.S. cities. I know you guys think it's unfair & you're probably disappointed, but the good news is, I could now use this heck of a  failure as fuel for plans for future trips to Los Angeles, like the one I'm currently brainstorming for when my high school graduation comes around. You guys are probably very very upset about this & I totally understand your feelings & grieving for it. Here's what you COULD do: Legitimately spam #FRIRND on Google+ with questions about other plans I have in place for this Christmas. I am giving you my permission  to flood the hashtag with your questions SO MUCH that I will be able to respond to multiple at once with short, specific answers. Look at YouTube for upcoming advent ca...

11 ways to prepare for the LA Verdict tomorrow

Here are 11 ways you could prep yourself for the Los Angeles trip verdict tomorrow: Pay attention to what goes up on YouTube between now at 7:30 PM & tomorrow at 5:00 PM. These will be short informative videos, which will serve as incentive for you to look at the posts when they come up. They will be available under #FRIRND on YouTube though. Keep Google+ open on your phone & computer the entire evening tomorrow, preferably starting 4:00 PM. The posts will have the hashtag #LAVerdict & #FRIRND on them, from 5:00 PM to late evening. Please bear in mind they will most likely upset you. Be prepared to be severely disappointed tomorrow & prepare for the ultimate worst. Still hope for the best though. Share the fear of impending doom with FRIRNDS who have been looking forward to the possibility of Los Angeles happening. Chances are that they also love epic modern lifts & they will ALSO be devastated for the possible loss tomorrow. Facing it alone will only make y...

Worst lifts to film in Charlotte, LA, Houston & Miami

Throughout this blog post, I describe the worst lifts to film in four of the 10 Charlotte-like cities to film lifts. Charlotte (North Carolina) For Charlotte, the lifts are very, very epic & each have totally different character for every building you visit. I absolutely love Charlotte's lifts very much because of this. Most of the generic lifts  will have either EPCO (better kind) or Innovation buttons. For her worst lifts, they are a bit boring to ride, although nowhere near as boring as the typical NYC Generic lift with Monitor TR. Charlotte's typical bad lifts (boring) have one of the following buttons: Innovation Universal OR NEMA 4X CRAPCO Survivor+ CRAPCO Survivor+ is what you'll find for bad lifts! Out of 110 videos I have seen for this city, I haven't seen CRAPCO SSL or Monitor TR at all!  This leads me to believe that Charlotte's worst lift may be the best out of the 10 cities' worst lifts to film. Los Angeles (California) ...

My new favorite traction lift

After riding a new Schindler traction lift the last time I went to Secaucus (last Sunday), I discovered my new favorite kind of traction lift: The Schindler 6400/5500. Similarities between the Schindler 6400 & the 5500 The Schindler 6400 & 5500 use the same exact motor; except the 5500 one is for brand new Schindler builds. This model is available in 2 forms: motor-room-less (MRL) or mini motor room (MMR). Both the Schindler 6400 & the 5500 run exactly the same way; they have intelligent leveling, are extremely quick (time-wise, not travel-speed wise) & they are absolutely epic with countless possible ways. The Schindler 6400 is used primarily for modernizing or replacing old traction lifts. I like the design of the 6400 traction lift  though because the motor design looks extremely epic. How do I know this? I have looked at a video from Schindler's YouTube Channel & multiple diagrams of the Schindler suspension traction media VF motor.  Without bein...
