The FINAL LA VERDICT

I am sorry to break it to you FRIRNDS, but the sad reality is, we are unfortunately not going to LA! I know you guys are definitely extremely devastated, especially the ones looking forward to me filming lifts in one of my favorite Charlotte-like U.S. cities. I know you guys think it's unfair & you're probably disappointed, but the good news is, I could now use this heck of a failure as fuel for plans for future trips to Los Angeles, like the one I'm currently brainstorming for when my high school graduation comes around. You guys are probably very very upset about this & I totally understand your feelings & grieving for it. Here's what you COULD do:

  • Legitimately spam #FRIRND on Google+ with questions about other plans I have in place for this Christmas. I am giving you my permission to flood the hashtag with your questions SO MUCH that I will be able to respond to multiple at once with short, specific answers.
  • Look at YouTube for upcoming advent calendars.
  • Keep one eye on the EleFilm blog daily.
  • Look for any new event page on my main website. This new event page could be customized at ANY TIME between now & December 23rd.
As a result, there will be no more pre-blog posts regarding Los Angeles after this point. This means the December 17 post is canceled as well! My blogging schedule is no longer busy, which is a major plus, since that leaves me more room to focus on academics. The December 10, 12, 15, 17, 19 & 21 update blog posts have all been canceled due to this unfortunate time.

Alternative plans

Although we will not be going to LA this Christmas, I do have some plans for a 2-night road trip to Cromwell. There is a near certain possibility that is still happening to this day. If it does end up happening (which most likely it either will or will not), will most likely take place from December 23rd to December 25. If so, I AM NOT UPLOADING ANY DECEMBER CROMWELL CONTENT TO YOUTUBE UNTIL KWANZAA DAY AROUND 11:00 PM, if I am not filming any lifts whatsoever on Kwanzaa Day though. This is because I most likely will not be filming any lifts on Kwanzaa Day & I don't want to upload too early before the anniversary day.

Also, there is currently a 33 percent probability I might be going to Pittsburgh for one night on December 29 - December 30. If that happens, you will get a brief blog post about it once I start getting details of its happenings, but it may come up the day before the trip at the latest, if so. My plans are to film a Compass destination dispatch lift, a PORT lift, a Gen2 OR 3300 lift & / or a Miconic 10 lift in Pittsburgh. Any other lifts that I could film in Pittsburgh will become bonus treats, especially if I am able to find & film a 5500.

Stay alert

None of the details for anything mentioned above for the Christmas break is concrete until word about there happenings are heard. As for LA, that's no longer on the agenda books. Pout now, but that's the reality & I cannot do anything about it. However, while I will continue trying to make LA a possibility for my graduation trip, I cannot promise anything at the moment either & the probability of me visiting another Charlotte-like city during high school graduation besides Secaucus is at 10% right now.

The Cromwell update blog posts will pop up at random between now & December 22nd, or when new things pop up for it, such as hotel reservations, itineraries & possible times for lift filming.

Why Schindler & KONE make the best traction lifts

Over the past 2 & a half years of filming lifts at different buildings all over the Eastern Seaboard, I have managed to film a handful of OTIS, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp & KONE traction lifts. Here is my assumption: Schindler & KONE make the best traction & MRL traction lifts of any of the 4 major lift brands. Of course, this could be based on personal bias, but it doesn’t go without knowledge that Schindler lifts, are in fact, more efficient time-based than let’s say, ThyssenKrupp lifts. Here are some things that I really love about Schindler & KONE traction lifts. Their fast acceleration / leveling It is no surprise that Schindler & KONE have some of the fastest average accelerating rates of any major lift brand. This is because Schindler & KONE have a perfect reference-tackle system, which is almost unbeatable by standards of other lift brands. One thing I have noticed when riding Schindler lifts is even at low speeds (200-400 FPM), you head feels like...

Found the source of the problems with my PC

I am proud to finally tell y’all that I believe I have found a definite source of the problems I have been experiencing with my Windows PC over the past few days. It was because of a faulty Windows 10 preview update which was affecting the Windows 10 Recovery Environment. Luckily, I have found a trustworthy program (free of malware) which I could use to debug errors in my PC at any time, minor or major. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s happened when I tried to fix windows PC’s in the past. I am still taking  every precaution possible to further decrease the chance of my Windows PC breaking down or crashing. As a matter of fact, my PC almost crashed  this morning , but luckily, I was able to hard-restart the PC to get it working again by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s h...

THE OTIS IN ANAHEIM

Before writing this report, let me quickly give you some background on the lifts and escalators that I have seen during my time at DisneyLand in Anaheim, California with my family. Brief Overview While I was at DisneyLand in Anaheim, I have encountered four sets of very tall MontgomeryKONE escalators, a set of two very fast MontgomeryKONE traction units (partially outdoor as the first landing had a rear door that opened on the outside of the building), this OTIS hydro here that I managed to ride and film & another OTIS hydro that I didn’t get to ride nor film. These lifts, regardless, were still very awesome lifts, but for now, I will be going into a description of this amazing lift. What made this lift so amazing? This particular lift is so amazing because it’s a full-blown commercial hydraulic lift installed fully outdoors , which is rather unusual for an outdoor lift. This alone made it amazing. Upon first glance, it looks like a pretty standard lift that you would typical...
