11 ways to prepare for the LA Verdict tomorrow

Here are 11 ways you could prep yourself for the Los Angeles trip verdict tomorrow:

  1. Pay attention to what goes up on YouTube between now at 7:30 PM & tomorrow at 5:00 PM. These will be short informative videos, which will serve as incentive for you to look at the posts when they come up. They will be available under #FRIRND on YouTube though.
  2. Keep Google+ open on your phone & computer the entire evening tomorrow, preferably starting 4:00 PM. The posts will have the hashtag #LAVerdict & #FRIRND on them, from 5:00 PM to late evening. Please bear in mind they will most likely upset you. Be prepared to be severely disappointed tomorrow & prepare for the ultimate worst. Still hope for the best though.
  3. Share the fear of impending doom with FRIRNDS who have been looking forward to the possibility of Los Angeles happening. Chances are that they also love epic modern lifts & they will ALSO be devastated for the possible loss tomorrow. Facing it alone will only make you feel more disappointed.
  4. Reply to the #LAVerdict posts on Google+. This is THE QUICKEST way I could answer your questions as I could get to them right away!
  5. SPAM MY INBOX WITH EMAILS at prosperouspenguins@gmail.com.
  6. Watch a movie that makes you laugh (to cool off & take a break from going sleepless worrying). Chances are that I could almost DEFINITELY be spending a day or two in Secaucus at the worst of the worst case scenario.
  7. If you love epic modern lifts, ask me what's the story on the graduation trip by spamming my inbox with emails.
  8. For the love of the lords, MEDITATE!!!! This is the surest way to relax your mind in preparation for impending doom. Doing this will not only calm you down today, but it will reduce the intensity of your reaction tomorrow, if the worst of the worst is to unfold.
  9. Literally spam the #LAVerdict hashtag on Google+ with questions. Believe you me, I will be answering them on the fly!
  10. Bookmark the Technicalboy3000 new website's blog as a favorite page on your web browser & KEEP IT OPEN on December 8 the entire afternoon. Refresh the page on the fifteenth minute of the new hour. The official veridct post will be coming to the blog at 4:15 PM (Los Angeles will get it at 1:15, Houston will get it at 2:15).
  11. Pray that New York City is nowhere on my agenda books for Christmas Week & if I have no choice but to go to New York City, pray that I am at least able to visit a few towers with NON-GENERIC lifts (such as Series 1, Miconic 10 or Elevonic 411).

Why Schindler & KONE make the best traction lifts

Over the past 2 & a half years of filming lifts at different buildings all over the Eastern Seaboard, I have managed to film a handful of OTIS, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp & KONE traction lifts. Here is my assumption: Schindler & KONE make the best traction & MRL traction lifts of any of the 4 major lift brands. Of course, this could be based on personal bias, but it doesn’t go without knowledge that Schindler lifts, are in fact, more efficient time-based than let’s say, ThyssenKrupp lifts. Here are some things that I really love about Schindler & KONE traction lifts. Their fast acceleration / leveling It is no surprise that Schindler & KONE have some of the fastest average accelerating rates of any major lift brand. This is because Schindler & KONE have a perfect reference-tackle system, which is almost unbeatable by standards of other lift brands. One thing I have noticed when riding Schindler lifts is even at low speeds (200-400 FPM), you head feels like...

THE OTIS IN ANAHEIM

Before writing this report, let me quickly give you some background on the lifts and escalators that I have seen during my time at DisneyLand in Anaheim, California with my family. Brief Overview While I was at DisneyLand in Anaheim, I have encountered four sets of very tall MontgomeryKONE escalators, a set of two very fast MontgomeryKONE traction units (partially outdoor as the first landing had a rear door that opened on the outside of the building), this OTIS hydro here that I managed to ride and film & another OTIS hydro that I didn’t get to ride nor film. These lifts, regardless, were still very awesome lifts, but for now, I will be going into a description of this amazing lift. What made this lift so amazing? This particular lift is so amazing because it’s a full-blown commercial hydraulic lift installed fully outdoors , which is rather unusual for an outdoor lift. This alone made it amazing. Upon first glance, it looks like a pretty standard lift that you would typical...
