What to expect for the 2nd half of the year

The first half of 2018 has definitely been an interesting half of the year. During the first quarter of 2018 alone, I managed to start the year right by filming epic lifts with character! My takeaway favorites from 2018 so far was the entrance lift at the IKEA home furnishings store in Elizabeth & the 50-story Montgomery lifts at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. With that being said, let's take a look at what the 2nd half of the year could look like.

Expect 1 or more visits to Secaucus in the fall

I have not been aBLE TO to get perfect takes of the lifts in the Embassy Suites hotel SINCE December 2016, on my first visit to Secaucus. This Autumn, I want to pick a day where the lifts will theoretically be less busy, and if worst comes to worst, I hope I can get the opportunity to film the staff only lift for the first time to avoid the traffic on the glass lift. If I go to Elizabeth, PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO GO TO THE HILTON! I AM NOT FILMING A LIFT WITH EPCO SSL FIXTURES WHATSOEVER, EVEN IF IT IS IN THE CHARLOTTE KINGDOM! If I ever face a situation where I'm in a set of lifts where some lifts have Monitor TR and others have EPCO SSL, I will ONLY film the lifts that have Monitor TR! It's that simple!

If I like Elizabeth, expect me to visit 1 or 2 more times in the fall to re-film lifts

It is no secret that I've already been riding lifts in that town more than six times in my life & have been equally impressed with any encounter. Of course, I will not film the lifts at the Hilton hotel because their lifts are Dover traction with EPCO SSL, making them the WORST LIFTS IN THE TOWN! I expect to have ridden at least ONE KONE MRL before 2018 is out! This means I SHOULD visit the Embassy Suites hotel in Newark Airport. You will not know in advance my plans for filming lifts.

What are my hopes for winter 2018?

For winter recess, I am hoping to visit 1 or 2 of the following that I didn't visit in the summer (to film lifts):
  • Hartford
  • Stamford
  • Atlantic City
  • Fort Lauderdale
  • LA
  • Pittsburgh
On December 16, a journal post containing plans for the first half of 2019 will be discussed, including a proposed 18th birthday weekend trip to Atlantic City. I do NOT want to stay in the Borgata hotel. I am perfectly fine with Harrah's as they have a slew of varieties of lifts to film. I am perfectly fine with Caesar's as they have a pretty neat selection of different kinds of lifts to film, including some MRL's from the 1990s. I am happy to go to the Tropicana, Showboat and Bally's anyday as they have EPIC selections of lifts to film!

Why Schindler & KONE make the best traction lifts

Over the past 2 & a half years of filming lifts at different buildings all over the Eastern Seaboard, I have managed to film a handful of OTIS, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp & KONE traction lifts. Here is my assumption: Schindler & KONE make the best traction & MRL traction lifts of any of the 4 major lift brands. Of course, this could be based on personal bias, but it doesn’t go without knowledge that Schindler lifts, are in fact, more efficient time-based than let’s say, ThyssenKrupp lifts. Here are some things that I really love about Schindler & KONE traction lifts. Their fast acceleration / leveling It is no surprise that Schindler & KONE have some of the fastest average accelerating rates of any major lift brand. This is because Schindler & KONE have a perfect reference-tackle system, which is almost unbeatable by standards of other lift brands. One thing I have noticed when riding Schindler lifts is even at low speeds (200-400 FPM), you head feels like...

Found the source of the problems with my PC

I am proud to finally tell y’all that I believe I have found a definite source of the problems I have been experiencing with my Windows PC over the past few days. It was because of a faulty Windows 10 preview update which was affecting the Windows 10 Recovery Environment. Luckily, I have found a trustworthy program (free of malware) which I could use to debug errors in my PC at any time, minor or major. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s happened when I tried to fix windows PC’s in the past. I am still taking  every precaution possible to further decrease the chance of my Windows PC breaking down or crashing. As a matter of fact, my PC almost crashed  this morning , but luckily, I was able to hard-restart the PC to get it working again by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds. Luckily,  none of the problems I am experiencing with my PC right now are  anywhere close to what’s h...

THE OTIS IN ANAHEIM

Before writing this report, let me quickly give you some background on the lifts and escalators that I have seen during my time at DisneyLand in Anaheim, California with my family. Brief Overview While I was at DisneyLand in Anaheim, I have encountered four sets of very tall MontgomeryKONE escalators, a set of two very fast MontgomeryKONE traction units (partially outdoor as the first landing had a rear door that opened on the outside of the building), this OTIS hydro here that I managed to ride and film & another OTIS hydro that I didn’t get to ride nor film. These lifts, regardless, were still very awesome lifts, but for now, I will be going into a description of this amazing lift. What made this lift so amazing? This particular lift is so amazing because it’s a full-blown commercial hydraulic lift installed fully outdoors , which is rather unusual for an outdoor lift. This alone made it amazing. Upon first glance, it looks like a pretty standard lift that you would typical...
